Hi,

We are planing to use LM3670 in one of our designs for power solution with 3.6V input and 1.8V output with max 300mA.

But this is a space constrained board. We can not use the inductor's suggested in data sheet. Is it possible to use 4.7uH inductor like (PFL2015-472MEB) for this solution.

If not can you please suggest any other alternative part with small footprint than this IC.

Hi Yuvaraju,

I looks like 4.7uH inductor is only an option for variable output voltage. In any case, you might want to consider TPS62243 which uses 2.2uH inductor with fixed switching frequency of 2.25MHz. See the link below for the datasheet.

I have one more question, When I tried customizing LM3670MFX-1.8/NOPB with 3V-4.2V input and 1.80V output @ 0.35A in webench tool. I got recommendation for MLP2016H4R7MT0S1 - 4.7uF inductor with 0806 package. Is it fine to use this. Kindly let me know.

Hi Yuvaraju,

MLP2016H4R7MT0S1 (4.7uH inductor) looks fine and it has 1.1A rated current.
