Hello!
I'm working in a new project for my company and I would like to use the PTN04050C.

But this project must meet the following standards:

CISPR11: Radiated Emission
CISPR11: Conducted Emission
IEC 61000-4-3: Radiated radiofrequency

IEC 61000-4-6: Conducted radiofrequency

IEC 61000-4-8: Magnetic Fields

There is some test reports or other informations that allows me to analyze if this board

can meet theese standars?

Bellow my answers:

Input: single cell LiPo battery:
Vin: 3V - 4.2V

Output: brushless DC motor
Vout: 12V
Iout(max): 0,5A

Hi Geraldo,

I would suggest TPS61089 for your application, the solution size and cost would be much smaller.

this device is widely used without complain on EMI issue. you could refer below for the method to optimize the EMI

however, please note that the EMI issue strongly depend on the system board design, NOT just boost circuit.

Hello Jasper,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I need to develop a product in very short time, so use a board
module like the PTN04050C will help me to reduce time in:

1 - Project, read datasheet, calculate the components values
2 - Selecting the right components in distributor
3 - Layout the PCB
4 - Testing the project

So in this case, will be more interesting to my company
reduce the time in theese phases using a ready module, and
about use the TPS61089 I have not found such board, only the IC.

Hi Geraldo,

you can copy the sch, layout of the TPS61089EVM, only changing the feedback resistor.

I'm Ok if you select PTN device. But we don't have the data you requested as Chris mentioned.

however, to my knowledge, the TPS61089 may has advantage in EMI all the control and power switch are in the same die. the noisy loop is very small which help the EMI.

Hello Jasper,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm checking the datasheet and this IC can delivery 18W, as I need 12Vout, so I'll get something around 1.5A right? To achieve this maximum with the schematics of the EVM, do I need to modify anything besides the resistors?

Hi Geraldo,

if the input voltage is 3~4.2V, the output power can't 18W, otherwise the device will be very hot and trigger thermal shutdown.

if really need 1.5A, I have to suggest TPS61088.
