BQ24075T: Large capacity and large current to charge Li-ion battery using BQ24075T

Part Number: BQ24075T

Dear Sir,

I have a project need charge Li-ion battery, the Li-ion battery are 3 pcs parallel, the capacity is 4200mAh*3=12600mAh.

I select use BQ24075T to charge it, and my settings are :

1.Fast charge current is 1.4A, the R(ISET)=649 ohm (1.37A).

2. Input current is 1.5A, the R(ILIM)=1.07K ohm (1.495A).

3. Fast charge 7.5 hours, R(TMR)=59.0K ohm (7.37 hours).

4. EN2=HIGH, EN1=LOW.

5. Power source : USB type C DC 5.0V / 3A.

But I have some question :

1. Is this setting OK?

2. There is a "SYSOFF" pin on the BQ24075T. How does this pin work when USB 3.0 (or USB Type C) is connected?

3. Is it ok of the current for fast charging very close to the input current?

  • Hello,

    1) The setting is correct

    2) The SYSOFF pin is used to turn the FET between BAT and OUT on and off. You can pull this pin low to always have the FET on.

    3) There is no problem having the charge current close to the input current limit. The charger will automatically reduce the charge current if the load current increases.
