I would like to evaluate the subject-mentioned part and would like to put a similar non-rad hard, less expensive, non-flatpack part on my prototype board.  Is there something very similar to it?

    Hi,

    The engineering model (/EM) units are built with the same silicon, package, and assembly flows as the production flight devices. However, /EM devices do not get the same quality inspections and screenings as the production flight units.  Electrical performance over temperature is not assured on the EM units (25C only).  In addition, no radiation assurance is provided in the case where flight devices are RHA.   As a result, TI is able to provide /EM units at a lower cost point to customers.  This may or may not be suitable for your prototype testing.
