Hi Team,

The maximum dropout voltage is stated as 1.3V for Iout of 800mA in the datasheet. For 5V to 3.3V conversion, the dropout will be 5-3.3=1.7V which is above the drop out stated in datasheet.

Can LM1117-3.3 be used to derive 3.3 from 5V. Kindly share knowledge

Yes. This will work. A much newer device is our TLV757 which will give you even more headroom.

It may work. How much output Current is supported in that case to maintain regulation.

There is no minimum load current for most of our new regulators. So the answer is 0.
