UCC27511: Problem with modelling in Simetrix

Part Number: UCC27511
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1020

I am using Simetrix-8.30 to simulate a specific signal generator for driving a MOSFET.Hello,

For this purpose I tried using UCC27511 gate driver from Texas Instrument but I can not bring it under operation. Why OUT-L and OUT-H behave similarly? What is the problem of my circuit? What kind of mistake am I making?

The specifications of voltage source V3 is as below picture.

Could you please help me?

Best regards,

Alireza

  • Hi Alireza,

From a schematic standpoint, I don't see any specific concerns. Keep in mind, OUTL and OUTH are both output pins with the key difference in the fact that OUTL is the path of sink current when gate is pulling low while OUTH is the source current path when the gate is pulling high.

The main concern is the switching frequency, this driver is capable of operating at 20MHz, simulations might show some waveforms but in reality, this is well beyond the package power dissipation rating. LMG1020 is better suited for those frequency ranges.
