TPS92511: How many LED in series can be driven by TPS92551 with 60V input and 500mA current?

Part Number: TPS92511

 Hello guys,

One of my customer considering using TPS92511 for their net products too.

They want to know how many LED in series can be by TPS92511 drive with 60V input and 500mA current?

Could you please give me your reply?

Your repluy would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • Hello Kazuya,

    From the datasheet:

"The TPS92511 employs a proprietary Pulse-Level-Modulation (PLM) control scheme under continuous
conduction mode (CCM) to regulate the LED current without the need of sensing the LED current directly. It
applies a floating buck topology with a low-side N-channel power MOSFET, which does not need boot-strapping
capacitor, so that driving LED string under drop-out conditions and very high input voltages are feasible."

This part can run 100% duty cycle so it will have a similar range as to the other part you asked about.

    Best Regards,

  •  Hello Irwin,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Your reply is very helpful for the customer and me.

Thank you again and best regards,

     Kazuya.
