REF3312: Measurement of output voltage vs temperature without noise

Hello,

How do you measure the voltage reference output to produce a smooth plot of the output voltage vs temperature. There does not appear to be noise in the plot. I would like to reproduce the datasheet's output voltage vs temperature plot using my own measurements.

  • Hi Tyler,

    Output voltage vs temperature is a discrete graph made of many points. For example, we adjust the temperature from 25C to 27C and let the device soak for at least 5 minutes then take a temperature reading. We combine these readings into a graph. Noise is a time based measurement and will not apply in this type of graph because we aren't continuously sampling the output as we change temperature.

  • Thanks for the response Marcoo. Is a single voltage measurement taken at each temperature, which would include the effect of noise on its magnitude, or is the effect of noise reduced by doing something like taking a large number of measurements at that temperature and calculating the average?

    Each point should be one measurement. The effect of noise is overall small compared to temp drift that it does not appear.
