UCD3138FW-HSFB: Can the phase-shifted full-bridge circuit based on UCD3138 only use output voltage single-loop control instead of peak current double-loop control?

Part Number: UCD3138FW-HSFB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138

Hello.
I want to use UCD3138 to make a phase-shifted full-bridge circuit. I see that the development board uses voltage and current dual-loop control. Can UCD3138 achieve single-loop output voltage control, that is, do not sample the primary peak current?
Thank you.

  • Hi Zoujiangyilang,

The phase-shifted full-bridge circuit based on UCD3138 is called PSFB (Not HSFB) and as you know it works in peak current mode and uses two loops.

The Peak current mode code could be changed to work in voltage mode and use only one loop.

You will need to study the PCM code well and modify the code to get PSFB-VM on your own. It is certainly feasible.

    Regards,
