TPS40422: Overcurrent protection produces negative voltage behavior

Part Number: TPS40422

HI SIR

We use TPS40422 to design a dual-phase synchronous output 0.88V power supply, the specifications are as follows

Vin:12V

Vout:0.88V

Iout:20+20A

Fsw:500kHz

Lout:0.36uH *2 phase

When we test the short circuit, the output current begins to decrease after the IC starts protection, but the output current and voltage will both fall to negative current and negative voltage.

Can this phenomenon be reasonably explained on the circuit?
