We have a design that requires a high output capacitance and wanted to confirm the TPS55340-Q1 will be able to handle everything. We are looking for a 24V to 36V boost with maximum 2A current output, although the normal current output will be roughly 200mA. We require at least 220uF output capacitor to handle some current surges during operation.

I have used your TPS55340 Boost Calculator Tool and wanted to confirm the circuit. Please let me know if there are any potential issues with the TPS55340 handling this type of operation.

Hi Yinsong,

I used an input range of 22V-26V, however we will be shipping a 24V power supply with the system so it will typically be 24V +/-200mV.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the information.

Please tie SYNC to AGND if not used.
Please add the placeholder for the snubber on the diode. The 36V output is a little close to the rating.
The SS cap should be fine. If it triggers the overcurrent protection, you can increase value.
Other things look good to me.
