Hi team,

I'd like to know the idea and feasibility of using UCC27282 as a high side(driving 1 FET) and low side relay driver( driving back-to-back FET for reverse current blocking) in a bi-directional 48/12V DCDC system. The main competitor is Onsemi, their proposition is using FAN7171 as high side relay driver and NCV51511 as low side relay driver.

Hello Scarlett,

Thank you for supporting the UCC27282 half bridge driver. For the high side driver as used as a DC switch we have an application note showing how to use a similar driver, the UCC27284 in a way to provide the high side floating bias and high side gate drive. This can work in a DC on high side drive configuration, either bidirectional FET's or single FET unidirectional current flow.

Since you are discussing a high side driver an a low side drive for relay driving, can you provide a simple schematic of the circuit function that is needed?

Hi Richard,

Thanks for you reply. On low side(12V), the driver is used to drive back-to-back MOSFET as in the AN. On high side(48V), the customer doesn't need reverse protection function so only one FET is used. In this case, is using our half bridge driver product still feasible?

Another question is UCC27282 has interlock feature, when driving back-to-back MOSFET will the topology be different?
