BQ24095: BQ24095DGQR faq and understanding

Part Number: BQ24095

Dear,

In our project we are using BQ24095DGQR IC so i want to ask some questions as mentioned below :

-->Can you please explain what actually safety time does ,what i am  understanding is that it will terminate the charging cycle when adapter and battery are present and battery is still not charged after 10 hr..correct?

-->So from the case 1 i seems that charging time is limited to 10 hr only if continuously performed...!

-->What if i want to disable this 10 hr scenario.?

-->Below is the attached schematic of the charging section :

Please help us to provide some solution..!!

  • Hi Tirthal,

-->Can you please explain what actually safety time does ,what i am  understanding is that it will terminate the charging cycle when adapter and battery are present and battery is still not charged after 10 hr..correct? Yes, charging will terminate in 10 hours from safety timer

-->What if i want to disable this 10 hr scenario.? Can disable the timer through entering TTDM mode via floating TS pin. This will also disable termination so charge current will taper to 0mA. See d/s 9.4.1
