Hello, everyone,

I wonder if the BTP function works correctly? Every time I connect the power supply on the evaluation board, the BTP-INT bit is set, even if the RSOC has 10% or higher.

Are there any other parameters that influence BTP?

my configuration:
Init discharge set = 150mAh
init charge set = 175mAh
pack capacity = 6000mAh
NR = 1 & EMSHUT_EN = 0 & PCHGBTP = 1 & BTP_EN = 1

my configuration on the board:

The BTP interrupt function is enabled by removing the shunt from the J7 jumper and installing a shunt from SYSPRES to ALERT on the J2 jumper.

Hello Ricardo,

The conditions that the BTP interrupt bit is set is in section 7.9 in the TRM. Make sure the BTP_POL is set correctly as well.

Thanks for your answer. But the Problem isn't the BTP_POL.

My problem is set of BTP_INT, when i'm attaching the AC adapter (sets the Bit) and then never reset the BTP_INT (even if it's charged at 100%).

The TRM says only that the BTP_INT depends on Remaining-Capacity and Current, that are controlled by the Settings.BTP.Init Charge Set and Settings.BTP.Init Discharge Set Thresholds.

Can't understand why the BQ40Z60 should set BTP_INT, when i'm attaching an AC adapter. Seems for me a hardware or firmware bug or haven't found the right parameter.

Hello everybody,

I have exactly the same problem.
When I use the AC adapter (charging), the BTP_INT is immediately set. Although a remaining capacity is available.

I reviewed the other threads and I am checking with the FW team to see if this was fixed.

Have you tried configuring the gauge similar to what was outlined in the other threads and it's still performing the same way?

yes, I tried the other configurations and it's still not performing. It looks like as if the BTP_INT is set when connected to the AC adapter.

I need BTP_INT to indicate if a remaining capacity is available. But when I charge the battery, BTP_INT is set and it never "clears" after that.
The only way to reset BTP-INT is to do a reset with Battery Management Studios (with a full battery).

Unfortunately, this does not work as described in the data sheet.

Thank you for the update. Yes, we are still having the same issues as before.

We are currently developing the pcb on basis of the evaluation board, where the feature is integrated. Due to the development deadline and the planned start of production, we need a solution to this problem.

Thanks for the update. The problem is that the system I am developing is dependent on the signal BTP_INT, among other things. The system can't boot up properly, because e.g. when charging the Battery Pack BTP_INT is set and therefore can't be switched on and even when fully charging the lithium cells BTP_INT is not reseting. Only the SBS command "Reset" resets BTP_INT, but in my case this is not possible, because the host system cannot perform a reset if it cannot start up.

If I do not use the BTP_INT signal, I cannot guarantee that the host system will shut down correctly despite the low charge state of the lithium cells.
