TPSM84424: RoHS Exemption

This power module is RoHS compliant because there is currently an active exemption. The exemption runs out by July 2021, and after that date the products including the power module cannot be sold in the EU. Will a version not requiring the exemption be available, or are there any good alternatives?

Hi Bror, please take a look at TI's RoHS Exempt and expiration statement. The exemption that applies to TPSM84424 is 7c1.

Hi Kris,

Yes, I understand that the exemptions may be extended for a couple of years, but that may not help. We are designing a product which can be sold during the next 10 years, so we would like to start out with components not getting compliance problems after just a few years..

Hi Bror,

The TPSM53604 is RoHS-compliant without exemptions. Please see if that device would meet your application requirements.

I would be interested to know if you are using all RoHS-compliant resistors (without exemption) in your application and what resistor vendors you are using. Would you be able to share that information?
