BQ34Z100-G1: Schematic review and question for VEN pin application

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25703A, , GPCRA0, BQ34Z100

Hi Team:

Application: 4S Li-ion battery 14.4V/6800mAh ,  using BQ25703A  to support adapter/USB charge and  BQ34Z100-G1 fuel gauges

Please review the schematic in the below:

Questions:

1.  BQ25703A and BQ34Z100-G1 both need a 0.01ohm sense resistor between SRN and SRP,  in the application whether they could share the same sense resistor?

2. PIN 11 TS need a 10K 103AT-type thermistor, does there any other limits such as accuracy, temperature coefficent, etc? And does there any requirements for the install location for the thermistor?

3.  VEN function: Active High Voltage Translation Enable. This signal is optionally used to switch the input voltage divider on/off to reduce the power consumption (typ 45 µA) of the divider network.

Could you give some explanation on it ? Which voltage divider it refers to and does it's optional for our application?

4.  For the GPC and gpcra0 tool test procedure, does it is necessary to have more charge and discharge cycles to make the result accurate? Does the data submitted to online tool should contain the same cycle present Figure 1 in the https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluubc9/sluubc9.pdf or we could have more cycles?

5. Please review the schematic on the above and give the improvement instructions. Many thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Tess Chen
