TPS62410-Q1: Ripple voltage on 3.3V output

Part Number: TPS62410-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28377D, TPS62410, TMS320F28379D

Hi team,

I am pavankumar from Mahindra electric

I am using TPS62410-Q1 ic to supply the power to the MCU (TMS320F28377D).

both 3.3V and 1.2V outputs are present at regulator output.

But i am observing ripple with 0.25V on 3.3V output with 30KHz Frequency which is not appearing on 1.2V output.

Request you to support on this issue.

Thank you

  • Hi Pavan,

Which load did you connect during your testing?

    Best regards,

    Juergen

  • Hi,

currently TPS62410  connected to TMS320F28379D MCU and for other peripherals.

Can you confirm how much load i can draw from 3.3V and 1.2V in TPS62410 ic and is there any inductor and capacitor values required to change for load  variation.

Currently expected current on board  3.3V is 300mA and 1.2V i am using only for controller.

    kindly support.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Pavan,

The typical external values are suggested in the datasheet like inductor 2.2uH and output cap min 22uF.

Could you share the waveform of 3.3V rail where the ripple is observed and schematic? The

800mA load current can be drawn from the converter and the current drawn from the converter is inside specification.

    Best regards,

    Tanvee
