Dear All,

I am confused.

I was trying to make my own PCB with the BQ40Z60 working but I failed. Because that, I decided to buy the evaluation board, to check if my concept is OK and so on. So far, got the same problems and I still believe my hardware is OK, good news.

I start to study the default parameters. This board is preprogramed for 3 batteries, CHEMID is 1210 (BTW is anyone able to share with the datasheet of this?).

Programmed Design voltage is 10800mW, 3 times 3,6V. It is OK.
Programmed Design Capacity [mAh] is 4400mAh, first question, in the CEMID list this battery is described as 3650mAh, why then?
Programmed Design Capacity [cWh] is 336cWh, it could be 4,8V times 3 times 4400mAh. I yes, what this 4,8V is?

How to calculate and program the design capacity values correctly?

[Andy] It is normal. Two different battery cells can share the same chemistry id if their OCV and resistance tables are very close to each other. Usually, you need to find the design capacity of the battery cell in the battery specification.

Programmed Design Capacity [cWh] is 336cWh, it could be 4,8V times 3 times 4400mAh. I yes, what this 4,8V is?

[Andy] Design Capacity (cWh) = Design Capacity (mAh) * Number of Serial Cells * 3.6 V / 10 =4400*3*3.6/10 = 4752 cWh

The number 6336cWh you see should be a typo.

but the module is preprogrammed for some 3 cells pack. Why then this valueas are not correct?

My guess is that the number of battery cells was assumed to be 4 and therefore 6336cWh was calculated.

Design Capacity (cWh) = Design Capacity (mAh) * Number of Serial Cells * 3.6 V / 10 =4400*4*3.6/10 = 6336 cWh

Hell again,

I have a suspicion that my PCB has already been reprogrammed before I received it. Is there any way to restore the originally delivered settings?

You can program the default firmware to the bq40z60 device on your PCB.

the bq40z60EVM board comes with preprogrammed datas. I need to restore it. How to obtain those?

but is the same as for the BQ40Z60 chip? I thought this board is pre-programmed (such info is in the manual).

Could you please provide the gg.csv and srec file containing firmware which came with the brand new EVM?
