BQ51052B: Wireless charging portfolio

Part Number: BQ51052B

Hi Team,

I was searching for a development kit and I couldn't find one, it was listed as obsolete.  Will the part also be obsoleted?  Is there a new part coming out soon?

Design power budget is going to be a driver in this design. I want to make sure I understand Standby mode. Is that a mode where the chip is not actively receiving wireless power, but it is able to detect a wireless charger?  I see a quiescent current of 12uA (20 max) at the battery (4.2V), so ~50uW of power consumption while not charging, correct?

It looks like Qi Charging chips were designed with Li-Ion batteries in mind.  There are some advantages in using a Ni-Metal battery across operating temperatures.  Are there any Qi charging options that would support a Ni-Metal battery?

Regards,

Ramon
