DCP010505B: Follow-Up Question: Dielectric Isolation

Part Number: DCP010505B

I've noticed in other DCP01 series datasheets - specifically the DCP0124 datasheet (attached) from Burr-Brown listed the 1KV isolation as being based on "life-test data".  Is the reason for the 1KV continuous isolation no longer being valid due to the fact that TI no longer performs life-testing?  Is the Texas Instruments component design different that the original Burr-Brown?DCP0124.pdf

  • Hi Dan,

Please refer to Section 8.3.1.4 for information on isolation voltage. "TI’s DCP01B series of dc-dc converters are all 100% production tested at 1.0 kVAC for one second". This is valid for the flash test to identify integrity of the isolation. The rated continuous working voltage that can be maintained across isolation barrier is 60VDC max and 42.5VAC max respectively.

The datasheet was most likely updated to prevent confusion.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
