Hi Kris,

The input range is 8 ~ 27 V (normal voltage is 12V) to -5V -300mA conversion

With Vin up to 27V, the effective Vin across the device in IBB operation will be 27+|-5| = 32V which will exceed the abs max ratings of the device. Please consider a part like TPSM53603 instead.

is there a reference circuit for below two configuration

1. 8 ~ 27 V (normal voltage is 12V) to -5V -300mA conversion

2. 12V in, -12V out, -300mA

For 1) please see this app note on using TPSM53604 in IBB configuration which has results for -5Vout.

For 2) the closest reference I can find is using LMZM23601 shown in this app note. I will ask the apps engineer covering these devices if he has further comments.

Hi PY,

I think the LMZM23601 configured for IBB may be the better option out of the two devices simply because of it's size. The LMZM23601 is 3.8mm x 3mm device and can be used in your power application of 8V-27V (typical 12Vin) /-5Vout and 12Vin/-12Vout at 300mA loading.
