LP5018: How to use LP5018

Part Number: LP5018

Hi,

I would like to ask you how to use the LP5018.
(question 1)
Is it okay to understand that the current can be adjusted for each of the 18 LEDs?
Is current adjustment a method of changing the current value itself? Or is it a method of changing with PWM?
(Question 2)
Is the maximum LED current determined by RIREF and applies to all LEDs?
(Question 3)
Up to 18 LEDs can be connected. And I want to light 3 or 6 at the same time. Is that possible use?
(Question 4)
How many LEDs can be turned on at the same time?
(Question 5)
When turning off only a specific LED, should the brightness register of the corresponding LED be set to 0?

Best regards,

  • Hi, guy,

Q1. the current can be adjusted for each of the 18 LEDs. There are two dimming method which can adjust current:

1)set maximum current by RIREF       2) PWM control for each channel

    Q2. yes

Q3. yes. Instead of controlling the individual LED separately, which occupies the microcontroller resources heavily, the LP50xx device provides an easy coding approach, the LED bank control.

    Q4. 18

Q5. It's not necessary to set the brightness register of the corresponding LED to 0.

    Best regards.
