Hello,
We have ordered a LP8863EVM, and just want to be 100% sure that we are operating it correctly and will not damage the unit.
As you can see, the spec sheet seems to have some conflicting information:
It says on page 4 that a power supply of 24V or higher is required for operation, yet the picture just above this line shows a 12V input, and in theory the LP8863-Q1 should work from 3V to 48V. Now, the TLE4275QKVURQ1 5V LDO that is also on the same input does have a smaller operating range, from 5.5V to 42V, but neither of these components seems to account for the "24 V or higher" that is listed in the LP8863EVM spec sheet.
This number is also repeated on page 16 in reference to standalone mode:
What component, ultimately, would lead us to be unable to use a Vin of between 5.5V and 24V? If this range is indeed acceptable for Vin, as the pictures that show 12V Vin seem to imply, why does the spec sheet say we need greater than 24V?
Thanks for your help, we'd really like to be sure we are providing our EVM with a proper Vin and some further clarification on this point will be very helpful.
