TPS61169: Efficiency Improvement

Part Number: TPS61169

Customer is using TPS61169 to drive 3 series LEDs with 3.2V +/-0.3V Vf, 45 mA If. Measured efficiency is 75%.

Vin = 3.3V
Cin 10 uF
Cout = 1.0 uF
L = 22 uH (LBR2012T220K)

Questions:
Does 75% efficiency seems reasonable for this design?
What can we do to improve efficiency (ie reduce inductor RDC)?

Vout is 3.2V

Customer is driving 3 series LEDs with the following spec: Vf: 3.2V +/-0.3V ; If: 45mA

Hi Corbett,

Lower Rset (lower Rset means higher duty cycle to achieve 45mA output), lower Rdc of inductor and lower Vf of diode are all helpfull for higher efficiency.
