TPS3701: Pull-up Resistor Selection

Part Number: TPS3701

since system environment is bad, the power supply would susceptible to voltage transient and noisy, it would be causing the fault operation of the OUTA and OUTB during motor is in operating. Customer would like to enhance the noise immunity by reducing the pull-up resistance. How much resistance range you suggest? How much current that low side FET of this device is able to draw current? and what's the limitation when selecting this resistor value? Thanks.

  • Hi Brian,

As per the RoC of the datasheet, the TPS3701 outputs can only sink 10mA max on each output pin. This 10mA will limit the size of the resistors on the lower side.

The smallest size will be R = Vpullup / 10mA. Would this value be sufficient for your application?

Is the noise affecting the inputs of the TPS3701 or the outputs?
