Hi team,

It is nice to know you here. I have two questions about this device,

1. If I want to converter 12V to 1.8V/7A, do I have the benefit to choose LMZ31710? Such as efficiency and thermal performance will be better?

2. I check the efficiency and thermal information of these devices, they are mostly the same. Why these devices have similar parameters here?

As I know, I may think LMZ31710 has a higher output current, which needs higher power MOS, which leads to lower efficiency. Please correct me. Thanks.

Hi Charles,

Your observation is correct that there is no efficiency or thermal performance difference between these two devices. So there is no thermal or efficiency benefit to choosing the LMZ31710 over the LMZ31707. The primary difference between these devices is in the current limit settings available.

Hi Charles,

Yes, they both have the same power FETs and inductance.
