LMZ30606: Does this part support pre-biased startup?

Hello,

Unfortunately I cannot find anything about pre-biased startup for LMZ30602/4/6. Is this possible for these devices?

If not - what is the maximum voltage allowed at the output at startup?

Hi,

Pre-biased startup is not possible with the LMZ30602/4/6 devices. The maximum voltage allowed at the output is listed in the absolute maximum ratings table on page 2 of the datasheet and it is between -0.6V and VIN.

I could recommend some of our newer devices such as the TPSM82822 or TPS82084/5 that support pre-biased starup.

What are the specifications of your application such as Vin, Vout, Iout?

Hi Davor,

My application is quite simple - 5V to 3.3V @6A.

I just want to make sure that the LMZ30606 will start up after a short interruption/power-cycle that was not long enough to discharge all the output capacitors.

Unfortunately, your recommended parts don't have the current capability of the LMZ30606 (though I already use the TPS82085).

For operation at 6A, you could have a look at the TPSM82480.
