How to use TPH/TPL pin to identify if PSE allocated power is lower than what PD is requesting?
Assume, PD is setting at class 8, PSE is type 3, the TPH/TPL/BT pins status of class5 and class6 are the same (Low/High/Low).
How do I know the PD available power is 40W? or 51W?

Thanks for your reply. I would like to check with you my understanding is correct or not.
According to the TPS23880 datasheet table 9-2 PD power demotion table.
Example1: If a class8 PD connected with a 75W limited PSE port, the requested class reports "Class 8", while the assigned class reports "Class 6".
Example2: If a class8 PD connected with a 60W limited PSE port, the requested class reports "Class 8", while the assigned class reports "Class 6".
Is this power demotion mechanism defined by the IEEE 802.3? or it depends on the PSE controller?
