TPS25942A: The operation at disable

Part Number: TPS25942A

Hello team,

Our customer would like to know why the OUT leakage current in off state is specified for not only sinking but also sourcing.

And they also make sure the conditions for Vout = 18V, V(EN/UVLO) = 0V.

In their understanding, the specification is for reverse current protection condition.

Is it correct ?

Thank you and best regards,

Michiaki

  • Hi Michiaki,

In the OUT leakage current in OFF state spec, there are sourcing and sinking conditions

    • The sourcing condition is when there is a supply at Input voltage and 0V at output voltage. In this condition the OUT pin sources some leakage current.
    • The Sinking condition is when there is voltage at OUT greater than voltage at IN. In this condition the leakage current flows from OUT to inside the device.

The Sinking condition is the reverse current protection condition in OFF state. So when the device is disabled, the max reverse current that can flow is 20uA.
