TPS2541: Are the Data+ and Data- lines passed straight through the device if it is in SDP mode?

Part Number: TPS2541

Hi All,

My team is designing a 4-port USB hub that supports BC v1.2 battery charging modes. Each downstream port will have a TPS2541 to control port power.  Because the hub controller I'm using will handle any battery charging handshake required, the downstream port's TPS2541 does not need to supply the battery charging handshake signals.

If the TPS2541 is in the Standard Downstream Port, USB 2.0 Mode:

CTL1 = 1

CTL2 = 1

CTL3 = 0

ILIM_SEL = 1 or 0

Are the D+ and D- signal lines passed straight through the TPS2541 while in this mode (i.e. there is no battery charging handshake signaling done on D+ or D- lines and they are simply passed through the device to the hub controller).

I've seen some SDP ports pull down the data lines to GND via 15k-ohm resistor and I wanted to confirm that is not the case when the TPS2541 is configured for SDP operation.

Thank you,

Cameron Bolton
