LM3914: LM3914: LM3914N-1/NOPB Part Replacement

The only difference between LM3914V/NOPB and LM3914VX/NOPB is how many devices are in the reel. LM3914V/NOPB has 40 devices and LM3914VX/NOPB has 1000 devices in the package. Since you are probably ordering cut tape from Mouser, there is virtually no difference from your perspective.

As for socket, we have not used any sockets with this device and I do not have a specific recommendation. I did search on the web and found following socket that should be suitable and you can try it to see if it works in your application.

I think I replied in a previous thread that this device is not available for sample ordering but you can place a small quantity order like 5 pcs. on ti.com. Ibelieve it is also available on digikey and mouser.

Unfortunately, this is an older device and there is no reference design for it from TI.
