Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63900
Hi,
For a design I want to implement the TPS63900, because of its excellent light load efficiency and high output current.
The TPS63900 will be powering an LTE-M modem, which consumes high current peaks when transmitting. When trying to test the converter at 2.0V in and 3.6V out at an output current of 400mA, the converter fails and outputs 0V. The same thing happens also at lower currents, like 300mA, however, the datasheets states that it should be capable of delivering 400mA. The only way to get the converter to output 400mA is by increasing the input voltage.
When I looked at the evaluation module's user guide, it stated a maximum current of 330mA. Why do the specifications differ so much and how can the maximum output current be increased?
Kind regards,
Martin
