BQ25895EVM-664: For this EVM, is it safe to simulate a battery with bench power?

Part Number: BQ25895EVM-664
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

Can I attach a bench power supply to the BAT and GND terminals of the BQ25895EVM-664 instead of a battery?  I would be careful not to attach input power (Vbus or USB In), and to disable charging with the register setting in bqStudio.  Obviously I don't want the BQ25895EVM trying to "charge" the bench supply, but as long as I don't do that, is it otherwise safe?  I'm trying to eliminate the battery and its protection module (BQ29700) from the equation while evaluating the current capacity of the BQ25895EVM boost converter.

Thanks very much!

Graham
