BQ29330: Bq29330

Part Number: BQ29330
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76920, BQ78350-R1A, BQ40Z50

Respect sir

I made one bms using bq29330+bq20z70pwr-160 IC

But when i connect the cells and test through miltimeter at output terminal i didn't get any voltage..

Sir i wanted to ask is my testing procedure is correct.

If not then please tell me how to test it..

  • Hi Jitendra,

I would check the status of the protection FETs - if they are open then you might not be able to observe the voltage on the PACK outputs.

Also, just curious why you selected the BQ29330 for this application. I think a newer and easier-to-use solution might be the BQ76920+BQ78350-R1A. We have some TI Reference designs based on these products that may be helpful.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Sir please check and reply about status

And also.. Tell about how to test it..

Is there any evm2300..that we need to buy..

Or i should get directly.. Output voltage when i connect the cells

  • Jitendra,

You can check the status of the FETs by measuring the voltage at the FET gates.

There is an EVM for these devices, but it looks like it is obsolete and no longer available. That is why I highly recommend using a newer device for your design. The BQ40Z50 may meet your BMS needs and it is a fully integrated solution.

    Best regards,

    Matt
