TPS568230EVM: feedback loop configuration - TP12, C15

Part Number: TPS568230EVM

Hello team,

I have questions on TPS568230EVM.

1. I wonder what TP12 is for. I thought it was supposed to test the voltage of FB node as it was noted 'loop test point' in guide, then I think it should probe the node between R9 and R8, but it seems it's actually probing output node with a small resistor R7. Could you let me know the purpose of TP12?

2. What is C15 for? I wonder why the output voltage feed-backs thru resistor dividing circuit plus C15, not thru resistor dividing circuit only.

Thank you so much for your help on my understanding.

  • Hi,

1, TP12 is used for loop test, which means bode plot test, R7 is used for noise injection, so the test point needed at both side of R7.

2, C15 is feed forward cap, used for transient/Phase margin performance  tune, it is an optional, based on system performance request.
