Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2378, UCC2897A
Dear Sirs,
TPS23756 function is OK for my customer, however, they need discrete solution.
May I know which DC/DC solution is same with the DC/DC portion inside the TPS23756?
Thanks.

Hello,
Thank you for your question.
The DC/DC inside the TPS23756 is unique to the TPS23756 so there is no exact same discrete DC/DC solution.
However, if needing a discrete PoE PD + DC/DC solution for Class 4 power levels, the TPS2378 + UCC2897A are commonly paired together.
Please let me know if having any additional questions and thank you for interest in Texas Instruments PoE devices.

Hi Brett,
In out application, the Aux Vin will down to 10V.
However, UCC2897A's Vin_min is 18V, so UCC2897 is not appropriate.
Could you provide a DC/DC solution that is similar to TPS23756, so that we can keep our power transformer and feedback circuit?
Thanks.
Hello,
Here is a TI reference design that uses the TPS23756 and has an input range of 10V-57V on the adapter: https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00091

Hello,
For discrete DC/DC converter stage only recommendations your best path forward is to post on the DC/DC forum and those experts will help guide you to a solution for your project needs.

Hi Brett,
May I have the link of DC/DC forum since only I can find is power management forum.
I want to post question again in DC/DC forum.
Thanks.
Hello,
Please allow me to make a couple more comments. For your design, if not wanting to use PoE at all, the TPS23756 can be used as the DC-DC converter stage in your design. We have several customers using this device as their DC/DC stage only without PoE functionality.
Also, I searched our TI Design database for discrete DC/DC converters and found some prospective designs and devices that may be of interest: https://www.ti.com/reference-designs/index.html#search?vinmin=10&iout=5&vout=5&isolated=Isolated
Please feel free to use this database as a resource and when you find a prospective reference design or IC, I recommend using this forum link to ask questions about the DC/DC TI design or the IC that you are interested in and your question will then get routed to the DC/DC team.
Thanks!

Hi Brett,
About your suggestion for TPS23756 as DC/DC stage design, is there any reference schematics available?
Thanks.
Hi,
We do not have a reference design of the TPS23756 as DC/DC only without PoE functionality. However, if not using PoE the Rclass, Rdetection, diode bridge, T2P circuitry, and diode between VSS & return can all be removed from the design.
