UCC28065: UCC28065 THD optimized

Part Number: UCC28065
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28064A

i have some questions about UCC28065 THD optimization problem
1. Is there a THD optimized external circuit available (you can insert the dead zone in the red box in the picture)?
2. TSET (PIN3) 1) What is the method of detecting external resistance (how to determine the set value)? 2) Or can it be changed during operation?
3. Is there a detailed introduction to the THD compensation method of UCC28065? Or from the characteristics of the chip compensation method?

Thank you!

  • Hi, Pei

Thanks for your interest in TI here. I've contacted the appropriate product group. You should hear from them soon.

  • Hi, Pei

there is no zero crossing distortion compensation in UCC28065. Unfortunately we still do not have external circuit to optimize the current distortion, and you can try reducing X cap to help here.

the previous version of UCC28065 is UCC28064A, in UCC28064A there is a current distortion compensation in the IC which called Tzcc compensation.

And you can try UCC28064A on your UCC28065 board because there are pin to pin compatible.

You can change the Tset resistor during working, and please make sure you do not couple noise on this pin during normal working.

    hope my answer helps you.
