TPS22964C: output discharge and non-discharge falling time

Part Number: TPS22964C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22917

Hi Sir,

may i know how much difference in the output discharge falling time for non-discharge function and have discharge function? or comparison chart? thanks.

  • Hi Tommy,

The true turn off time is dependent on the load and the discharge paths used. For example, if the load is purely capacitive in nature, the the turn off time for the non QOD variant will depend on the rate at which the capacitor leaks its stored voltage. If a QOD variant is used, then the discharge time is dependent on the RC constant of that capacitive load with the internal QOD.

When TI specs fall and turn off times, the loading condition is provided as well. If you require an output rail to be pulled low when the device is turned off, I would recommend using a device with QOD. If you want to slow down the discharge rates, we offer devices with a QOD pin on which you can add more discharge resistance like TPS22917.

Thank you for choosing TI Power Switches in your designs.
