MM5453: MM5452V - need help sending data

Part Number: MM5453

Hello,

I am using the MM5452V variant of the MM5453 family chip. I've successfully used the MM5453 chip before but am having difficulty with the MM5452V. The MM5452V variant has an active low data enable pin and the timing and signal relationships shown in the datasheet are not clear. Has anyone used this chip? I would really appreciate some advice on how to send the start bit and get data to send. I'm using 100 microseconds on the clock pulse width, and I'm making sure to abide by the 300ns set up times. I am also putting the data on the data port about midway between the clock pulses (50us). any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks - Jeff

  • Hello Jeff,

I reviewed the datasheet/timing diagram and besides 300ns setup and 300ns hold time requirements on the data line, there is also 100ns setup time requirement for the Enable signal. Please ensure that setup time for data enable is also met in your circuit. You may also hardwire the enable pin low just to test and ensure that the rest of you data/clock sequence is correct.

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat
