TPS53647: Can we replace ISL6398 with TPS53647 ?

Hi team,

Could you let me know whether TPS53647 is replaceable device for ISL6398? The competitor part only supports DCR sensing and resistive sensing while TPS53647 is supporting only smart power stage, LS Rds(on) sensing topology.

1. Is there any comparable device, other than TPS53647 ?

2. Even though not having the same functionalities, could you recommend any device to replace ISL6398 to suggest better solution to customer?

Hi Chasel,

Sorry for missing them out. It's a power for FPGA with 12Vin, 0.85Vout, 12.3Anominal, ~40Amax. I'm not sure about load current information though. ISL6398 is designed with 3 ph, 60A rating of power stage each, to reduce the output ripple. Thanks.

Hi MINKYUNG,

You can use TPS53647 without issue. If they don't like to use pin strap settings, TPS53681 is another choice with higher phases count but may overkill.
