BQ20Z45-R1: BQEVSW no longer functions on my computer, I get VB_NO_USB errors when trying to connect with EV2400.

This software used to work on my computer, but it has been wiped and updated, and could no longer get it to work. I've installed the drivers and installers that I thought I used previously, with no luck. Can you provide a list of what I need to connect to Bq20z45-R1 parts with EV2400?

First issue at attempt to open the program:

1. "The EV2300 connection could not be initiated! Please close this program and try again" - again I'm using a EV2400

2. Clicked OK to that error, two popups next:

a. No USB board was detected! Please close this application....

b. The detected device is not compatible with this application! Proceed at your own risk.

3. Clicked OK on both of those, lower right corner "No USB: VB_NO_USB"

Hello Mike,

The EV2400 should be compatible with the BQ20Z45. Try updating the firmware of the EV2400 and test again. Do you have an EV2300 available to test this as well?

Can you see the EV2400 as a device on your desktop before starting the software?

Yes I can see the EV2400 as a device on the computer. I tried the update, from version 0.18 to 0.28 but still no luck.

I don't have an EV2300 here unfortunately.

To add, I use the EV2400 all the time with the Battery Management Studio program to communicate to BQ78350-R1, it is only this older Evaluation software that is problematic.

Thank you for all of your help. This was resolved, the issue was the EV2400 Support Components installer needs to be installed after the installation of the other software as other software can over-write these files. Once I ran that executable, my problem went away.
