    Sammi,

    To connect the ASI with an external input, the pin can be connected directly. It is not required to have the ASI signal pulled high if bypassing the VIN > VBAT + VDT requirement for ASO is possible and can be left floating as it is internally pulled down. It is not possible to power the device without an external power supply without an external power source such as the IN or OUT.
