BQ24296M: BQ24296M: Conncet external USB source in boost mode

Hi

I need to use BQ24296M in boost mode to power part of my device, but in this time user can connect external USB power source to input of the BQ24296M .

What will do BQ24296M in this case? It will automatically disble boost mode and switch to buck mode? May this become cause of damage for BQ24296M?

Hi,

For BQ24296M, VBUS and PMID are both boost mode output. VBUS cannot detect adaptor plug-in. As long as the adaptor applied is within the device operating range, the device should not get damaged. The host may disable boost mode when needed.
