CCS/BQ79600-Q1: Not able to wake up bridge board

Part Number: BQ79600-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ79600EVM

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am not able to wake-up this ic in spi mode.i am not getting cvdd and dvdd supply.

  • Hi Shiv,

Can you clarify if you are using a custom board or the BQ79600-Q1 EVM? If you are using a custom board, can you share the schematic? Also, how are you trying to wake the device?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Jones,

I am using BQ79600-q1 EVM board.we are powering on device with 12V input supply and 3.3V input supply for VIO. Actually i am  getting very less impedance across DVDD pin and ground is around 1ohm to 15 ohm. Once i power on board DVDD led is not glowing. If we give wakeup sequence through usb to any then also board is not able to wake-up. Is it possible to test this board standalone with 12v and 3.3 v supply? I am keeping all jumper as suggested by user manual sluc57.i have tested board with R7 and R9 in mounting condition and R8 and R10 resistor unmounted and vice-versa. Please suggest if IC is gone bad. Both CVDD and DVDD is not appering at output.

    Regards,

    Shiv

  • Hi Shiv,

The default communication to the BQ79600EVM is UART. If you would like to use SPI you'll need to depopulate R7 and R9 and short R8 and R10. Can you clarify that this is what you tried? Also make sure that you are selecting the proper communication option when you start up the GUI. How are you trying to wake the device in the GUI?

    Best Regards,
