TPS7A4701-EP: Input Impedance

Part Number: TPS7A4701-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS74401-EP

Team,

I have a question on the TPS7A4701-EP and TPS74401-EP LDOs.

I’d like to know what it would the simulation model for the Input Impedance of the LDO seeing from its Input Power Supply?

My customers power the LDOs in different ways, so for heir simulations it would be more accurately to place the Input Impedance that the LDO as a load present to its input power.

Could it be a combination of an R-C or perhaps and L-R-C?  A close estimation probably will be sufficient.

  • Hi Michael,

The input impedance at low frequencies looks resistive, and at high frequencies it looks capacitive. So a resistor and capacitor in parallel is a pretty good model for the input impedance.

    Best regards,

    Nick
