Could you please provide life cycle of this part ? (in terms of years)

The REG101 device is an older device (released back in 2000), however there are no plans to EOL or Obsolete the device at this time. You can see further information regarding TI's product life cycle using the below link.

I would like to recommend you consider our newer LDO TPS7A24 here for your application. This device delivers improved performance in many areas compared to the REG101 (lower-IQ, higher accuracy, wider VIN range, etc), it is p2p in the SOT-23-5 package, and it's released on TI's latest process technology. Let me know if this device could work for your application.
