BQ27531-G1: Is there a Chem id that can be used instead

Part Number: BQ27531-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24193, GPCCHEM, BQ27531EVM, EV2400, BQSTUDIO

Hello,

We are trying to make a charging system with a combination of BQ27531 and BQ24193. The cell used is ICP553450 made by maxell.

Unfortunately, using the latest Chemistry Updater, this cell was not registered.

Is there a Chem id that can be used instead?

Eventually we will create the best DFFS file.

Best Regards

  • Hello Kameoka,

I would recommend you use the GPCCHEM tool to find the best chemistry match for your cell if you cannot find the exact cell you are planning to use.

    Sincerely,

  • Hello Wyatt Keller san

    Thank you for your reply.

We are looking at the whole system and the battery related system at the same time.

I would like to move the battery charging block even if it does not interfere with the examination of the entire system.

So I asked if there was an equivalent chemical file in maxell's ICP553450.
I will link the catalog. Are there any chemical files available?

    www.rcmicro.es/.../MAXELL_catalogo_general.pdf

The evaluation board will be purchased. I will create chemical data after I get it.

  • Hello Kameoka-san,

The best way to find out is to run GPCCHEM tool on the battery pack. There's no way to match the text string based on the model to the chemID database.

    Thanks!

  • Hello Kang Knag -san,

    Thank you for your answer.

I would like to make log data for GPCCHEM.
    I got EV2400 and BQ27531EVM.
Please tell me how to collect log data with bqStudio (v1.3.101).

    - Can I use the "Gauge Parameter Packager" described in the help?
I couldn't find a way to open it.
    - The log was taken by the operation in the tab of Data Graph.
Is there a way to change the sample ring time?
    - Please tell me how to output the log to a file.

It would be helpful if there was a document that showed how to get log data with bqStudio (v1.3.101).

    Best Regards

  • Hello Kameoka-san,

    1. The GPC packager is something you create and submit.

    2. Please read through the EVM user's guide for logging and using the gauge.

  • Hello Kang Knag -san,

    Thank you for your reply.

However, I still can't create a log file to send to GPCCHEM and I'm in great trouble.

I can't find a description of how to log in the EVM user's guide.

I was able to draw a graph in the Data Graph tab of bqstudio. I can't output the csv file.

Please tell me concretely how to operate bqstudio.

    Best Regards

  • Re-read the EVM user's guide, the data is there.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your cooperation.

I was able to get a ChemID with GPCCHEM.

However, I couldn't get the qmax value because the report had the following words:

Warning: Deviation is above recommended level. New chem ID needs to be released for this cell. Please contact your TI representative to send the cell to Dallas for characterization

Originally, is this report correct with the understanding that I can get a QMAX value?
Is the way we get the Qmax value by sending the battery to Dallas? Is there a way to handle it in Japan?

  • Hello Kameoka-san,

Can you share the data you sent to the GPCCHEM tool and the report here so we can take a look? If the log files have a mistake the tool will not be able to find a god match.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hellow,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Share data and reports.

  • Hello Kameoka-san,

I would recommend testing the performance with this chemistry ID, the DOD error is sometimes over 3% in some cases. If you are seeing SOC jumps or inaccurate gauging we can characterize the battery.

Your data submitted looks good from reviewing it so it is not an issue from the tool.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
