TPS62175: Device operation in "Power Save Mode"

Part Number: TPS62175

Dear support team!

In our application we use the TPS62175 with a very low output current (120mA) and therefore in DCM -> the device should then remain in power save mode.

According datasheet the device shall then use the minimum on-time of (80ns).

When calculation the corresponding switching frequency I got the following result:

f_PSM = 2*Iout / (ton² * Vin/Vout  ( (Vin-Vout) / L) ) = 2*0.12A / (80ns² * 12V/5V  ( (12V-5V) / 10uH) ) = 22.3 MHz

For me it seems quite a high result (typ. the DC/DC converter should have 1MHz). Is this correct or what is my mistake?!

Kind regards,

Markus
