TPS62825: 1.8 and 1.0V Step down regulators for battery powered device

Part Number: TPS62825
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM82822
We are looking at the TI step down regulator and would like your recommendations:
- Battery Input V: 2.75 - 5.5 or 6V,
- Output: 1.8 and 1.0V, each at 1 to 2Amp
- For industrial portable hand held device. Need higher temperature, life is 5 years, ambient temp inside enclosure: -5 to 85C.
- Small foot print and high reliability,
We looked at the TI: TPS6282518DMQ (1.8V) and TPS62825DMQ )adj fo r1.0V out). What do yo think about these two and any other recommendations ?
  • We went to Mouser.com and found out so many 1.0V regulators form TI, and really would like TI suggestion for this application.
Again this for a small battery powered hand held device, that uses single cell battery with 2.6-4.35V as the input. We'd like to see a higher input voltage. The 1.0V and 1.8V are used for FPGA core power only.
We are also open to a module (inc inductor). thanks again.
  • Hello,

TPS62825 looks like a perfect fit with your application (2.6V-4.35V to 1.0V/1.8V conversion). The solution size can be as small as 31mm2.

For module solution, TPSM82822 can satisfy your requirement as well, and the solution size is 29mm2. See the link of the datasheet below.

You mentioned you are looking for solution with higher input voltage. What is the new input voltage range?
