TPS62840: What is current consumpiton of TPS62840 when the device is switching?

Part Number: TPS62840

The datasheets will show only power saving mode IQ current but there is not mentioned any current when the device is switching could you please tell the current consumption of TPS62840 when the buck is switching?

  • Hi Dharmesh,

We define Quiescent current when the device is not switching but the control circuits are ON. I believe you are looking for operating input current in this case. Could you check if your requirement matches one of the line items in the table above?

Please let me know if you need further help!

  • Hi Febin,

I am  using TPS62840 as a my main buck converter so i don't want to use any power saving, my buck will continuously in switching mode.
When i measure the input current of buck between my battery and buck which is around 0.680mA was consumed by buck it self and the load circuit which is connected with my buck is in sleep mode.

The load circuit current in load circuit in sleep mode is 40uA.

i just wanted to know that how much current will consume by buck when it is continuously switching mode?

    Regards

  • Hi Dharmesh,

Could you please share the schematic and also all the measurement plots for Vin, Vout, Iout, Iin.

It would also be helpful if you share some details or pictures of the probing points.

    Regards,

    Febin

  • Hi Dharmesh,
